Project Requirements

Collaborate with four teammates to create and brand a quarterly magazine aimed at the cultural development of Sacramento. Each quarter the magazine will switch between 5 topics: Art, Design, Music, Food & Coffee, and Community.

Teams must present marketing strategy based on audience research, competitive audit and statistical analysis.

The Process

Each group was given the opportunity to chose which quarter they would like to create content for. My group chose music. After researching the Sacramento magazine competition, we moved forward with an up close and personal photographic style and bold san-serif headlines.

Each group was responsible for creating their own content, everything from conducting interviews and writing articles to taking our own photography. I was able to take advantage of several my previous experience in the music scene to get interviews and photos all around town.

We painted a diverse picture of Sacramento's music scene, showcasing everything from Monster Energy's Aftershock festival to the new local Girls Rock chapter here in the Captial.
