The Process

James Nachtwey is an anti-war photographer who publishes powerful images of the many atrocities of man. To showcase this man's work, a palette of deep navy, ash green, and a violent red were chosen, referencing the military conflicts and bleak subjects covered in the subject matter. Color was used to guide the reader through the brochure with bright accents of red. Adding to the military motif, a very structured modular 1x3 grid was based off of his image's most common aspect ratio. This rigid structure rides the balance of oppressive to showcase the victim's plight.
