Design a set of playing cards using a series interdependent systems that distinguish 4 different suits, while remaining cohesive as a whole. The cards must have 6 easily recognizable sections: number cards, face cards, and 4 distinct suits.
With a base concept of clashing ancient Greek gods with high technology, inspiration for the facecard portraits was drawn from 4th century BCE "red-figure pottery" styling of the ancient greeks. This profile driven-portrait style was paired with a minimalist linear approach of illustration using point and line elements to communicate high efficiency technology. Angular geometric lines further the contrast of modern vs ancient subject matter.
